Why did you make this work:
This project was a creative challenge I set for myself and carried out as part of my Pre Major Project for my third year study of Illustration BA. My main interests include music and animals in beautiful environments so I wanted to set myself a challenge of combining these two very broad but also very different topics, so I decided to make each page represent a genre and work from there.

How was the illustration used:
Originally I was intended to be a single image for myself to spark joy with some of my favourite content, potentially to be made into a decorative print or my desktop background. However after much positive feedback I decided to grow it into a small collection of images to be enjoyed by a broader audience. It seemed to work best as a concertina.

How did you make this work:
This work was done purely digitally using Photoshop with my Wacom tablet. I find the most effective way of working for me is to start a sketch digitally and continuously build on top of that, working in layers so I can play around with the content and the layout throughout the development.
