Why did you make this work:
The illustration was commissioned by Marc Krusin, a London-based furniture designer, to be used on his website and across social media channels. Marc asked me to create an interior setting featuring two of his signature designs - Krusin Lounge chair for Knoll and the Mini Clay table for Desalto. I was given full creative freedom regarding style and the layout of the illustration.

How was the illustration used:
The illustration is used for self-promotion on client's website and across his social media channels. There is also a plan in place to turn it into a large format silkscreen art print later this year.

How did you make this work:
The illustration was drawn in pen and ink on paper and once approved by the client it was redrawn in Photoshop using Wacom Cintiq tablet. The image was executed using black only to recreate Film Noir aesthetic. Placing the “camera" behind the furniture and addition of some everyday objects brings a pinch of narrative to the scene. The geometric composition is balanced by the irregular smoke shape.
