Marlies Visser has designed book covers for a great number of publishing houses and works as an art director, illustrator, curator. She initiated the Illustration Biennale; a festival for Illustration. She was Head of Illustration Design at ArtEZ, University of the Arts and took part in professional juries, such as the jury of the Best Dutch Book Designs and as chair of the Dutch illustration award 'Gouden en Zilveren Penselen’. She is creative director of the Illustration Embassy.
