How did you make this work:
Personal project: I came across this scene in lower Manhattan that was stereotypically New York --a street under construction, very old buildings with a very old deli, graffitied walls, indifferent people, and a cat in the window. It was a very bright day and the smoke was so dense and white, making the whole scene beautiful. Mixed media on paper.

Biography:
Maki Yamaguchi is a Japanese freelance illustrator based in NY. Raised in Japan and art trained in NY, her work often shows influences from both the Eastern and Western cultures and aesthetics. She uses mixed-media and mostly works in editorial but loves working on wide range of projects.
