Why did you make this work:
After reading the text I started brainstorming and searched for a strong and clear image that supports the article and gives a beautiful image of an introvert who enjoys being in her own solitary creative world.

How was the illustration used:
Editorial illustration for an article in De Morgen Magazine about the qualities of introverts.

How did you make this work:
When the concept sketch is finished, I take the illustration to Photoshop. I very much like to use a Wacom drawing tablet to preserve the sketchy nature of the early drawings. Once the basic parts are drawn, I look for an intriguing color palette that supports the concept. In the next step I start drawing the details and add textures that give the illustration a certain atmosphere.

Biography:
After finishing my studies graphic design I specialized in illustration at Luca School of Arts (Ghent). I became an editorial illustrator because it perfectly combines my two most beloved passions: creating storytelling images and my love for print, especially magazines and newspapers.
