Asian Pop Triptych

Exploration

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
Actually, the lead image was created to respond to a challenge launched by an illustrator I follow and admire. But I created the following two illos with no a particular purpose, or at least none that I knew of. I think I just wanted to follow up a single image, by creating a non-didactic sequence tied to nothing but my inner imagery.

How was the illustration used:
The Triptych is one of my favourites exploration portfolio pieces

How did you make this work:
I made this work with the tools that let me feel confident and authentic, which means acrylic painting and coloured pencils on satin finished paper. I love the texture created by mixing these two media. Moreover, this process does look like me, meltin' the free gesture of the brush and the definition of colored pencils.
