- Why did you create this work?
This artwork was featured in an exhibition showcased at the Imperial Hotel in Tel Aviv. This unique display encouraged artists to artists to conceptualize their "utopia". For several months, the hotel opened its doors to visitors, providing an immersive exhibition of 37 different rooms by 50 artists. - How were your illustrations used?
Our room displayed a surreal swimming pool. We created a world that was our sanctuary, a haven where equality prevails, providing respite from the tumultuous reality and ceaseless noise that envelops us. In our room, we crafted a world that facilitated a gathering in a dreamlike realm, free from concerns and limitations, where every desire finds fulfillment. - What materials and techniques did you use?
Our creative process combined sewing, painting, and printing. We began with sketches, then sewed and filled each doll with acrylic fiber. Walls and ceiling were painted to resemble an underwater scene. We printed a pool floor on linoleum and hung up the dolls from the ceiling, creating the illusion of weightlessness. - Was this project commissioned?
