LAURAFELLER
Parisian Flower Shop

Site Specific

Commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
The design brief for the mural was to create a Parisian flair within the flower shop, going along with the existing theme of the interior and brand icon 'The Flowercart'. The walls turned into the facades of a street in Paris where a traditional flower store pops out. A wall design that is not only 2D but works in the 3rd dimension as well: Fresh flowers on the shelves interact with the painting.

How was the illustration used:
The illustration is a mural spreading over two walls, drawing attention to The Flower Cart, which is nestled within a spacious café. The mural creates another dimension using architectural elements to create a flower shop within a flower shop.

How did you make this work:
First, the architectural elements and lines of the drawing were copied onto the wall using a projector. All black lines were painted with a small brush, then colours for the flowers were added and bold black surfaces filled in. The final touches were made with a fine black Posca pen - outlines and details to give the painting another dimension.
