1,001 Creatures

Book Covers

Commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
The illustration was created for the cover art of the children's book 1,001 Creatures. With fun wildlife facts and captivating illustrations, 1,001 Creatures explores the diversity of the animal world and its ecosystems. The book pairs ink-drawn illustrations with humorous free-verse poems and an important message that we’re all in this together—human, jellyfish, and penguin alike.

How was the illustration used:
For a children's book cover

How did you make this work:
I painted the animal characters from memory using experimental drawing tools (cleaning tools, sponges, bits of plastic and cardboard as well as materials found in nature), Indian ink and crayons. I finished and coloured the compositions digitally using Adobe Photoshop.
