ProfessionalWhy did you make this work:
I have always liked drawing people with different hairstyles. A few years ago I read a book about the cultural history of hairstyles. It has fascinated me to learn about Empress Sisis beauty routine, the beauty recipes of Ancient Egyptians, or the tower hairstyles of the Baroque. The idea for a nonfictional picture book was born and luckily I could convince my publisher from this idea.
How was the illustration used: This non fictional picturebook (40 pages) fully illustrated and printed with 4 spot colours. It´s for children age 6-10. It is published in May 2021 at Prestel Junior.
How did you make this work: Illustrations, idea and texts are by me. The typographie and also the handlettering headlines were created by the typographer and grafic designer Paulina Pysz. The illustrations are digitally created in Adobe Photoshop. The book is printed in 4 spot colours.
