Magister Ludi

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
Magister Ludi is an interactive fashion collection. Its repositioning the meaning of clothes by adding an extra purpose to its usual ones, like providing protection, safety and warmth. It resembles an experiment of reusing clothes in a way that differs from their traditional manner. Clothes taken out of there common context to see what else they can be - a means of interaction. Clothing as a toy.

How was the illustration used:
My images are printed on fabric, but also on merchandising articles such as postcards, business cards, sticker and so forth.

How did you make this work:
Each item of the collection is taking place in its own theme world and can be played by two players. The Magister Ludi theme worlds can also be connected with each other and thereby expanding the game, allowing even more people to join in. Every garment is screen printed by hand. Magister Ludi was nominated for the Dutch “Academy Minerva Price” and exhibited at the Dutch Design Week 2017.
