Katherine Kannon : Donaukiez map

Design Product & Packaging

Commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
I was commissioned to create an art map of the Donaustrasse neighbourhood in Berlin’s Neukölln district. The folding poster needed to feature local schools, kindergartens, social service centres, events and businesses, with local listings and information on the rear side. It was distributed to residents to inform them on what is going on and hopefully instill a sense of pride in their area.

How was the illustration used:
The posters are available for free for residents of the Donaukiez neighbourhood and can be collected from the local Quartiersmanagement offices in Neukölln.

How did you make this work:
I hand drew the map as a black and white outline drawing before scanning it in and adding colour in Photoshop.
