Kate Osmond
A Reimagined Cover of The Salt Path by Raynor Winn

Book Covers

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
I chose to reimagine the cover of the Salt Path by Raynor Winn after being inspired by her story. Winn’s writing conjured up this beautiful imagery of small towns scattered along the coastline, and I felt like I had to capture this on paper. I love the original cover of the book by Angela Harding, and I wanted to see if I could create one with a completely different feel to it.

How was the illustration used:
This illustration was used as part of my MA coursework which will contribute to my portfolio.

How did you make this work:
To make this work I used Gouache layered with coloured pencil and wax pastels. I then scanned the work and added the type and some more details on Procreate.
