I was asked to create a full-page illustration behind the headline "Force of Nature" that incorporated elements of a lush web of interconnected life...plants, animals, flowers, mushrooms, marine life; for a feature story on the great (and difficult) work of a Fletcher grad who is head of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and travels the world to make the case for the environment.
How was the illustration used: Full page feature illustration
How did you make this work: The illustration was inspired by my pattern "undergrowth". I was given the layout with the headline and I was asked to create a rich illustration with many different plants and animals represented. I placed insects and small lichens, and mushrooms at the center to highlight that all life depends on the smallest creatures. They may seem unimportant but are the key to a stable ecosystem.

I am an illustrator based in Warsaw, Poland. I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and have illustrated for numerous magazines and newspapers in Poland and United States.
