Beginning as a rejected idea for a commission, I developed this piece as a metaphor for our struggles. We try to perform and sometimes it's very hard. I think it’s important to share this with others to emphasise that we all experience this, from time to time.

Biography:
Karolis Strautniekas is a freelance illustrator, working and living in Lithuania. Having finished his studies at the Fine Arts Academy in Vilnius (2011), he began working across creative disciplines such as advertising, animation and graphic design. In 2013, he focused his attention to illustration and has since worked with clients ranging from Audi to The New York Times and Penguin Books.
