Zero Zebras

A counting picture book for children

How were your illustrations used? :
Book inside or spot illustration/s

How did you make this work:
"Zero is a big nothing, but it is also a big deal." The art director asked me to come up with a concept that would bring home the idea of nothing. To this end, I decided to fill up the left-hand pages with the animals that were mentioned and the right-hand pages would be empty and leave the reader feeling like there was something missing. The refrain on every spread was "... and zero zebras".
