Why did you make this work:
Series of portraits to be used as covers for The Australian String Quartet Australian Anthology music releases.

How was the illustration used:
To be used as covers of each music release, advertising and promotion, in print and online and social media.

How did you make this work:
I was supplied with photographic reference of each subject. From there preliminary sketches were drawn up and submitted for approval of likeness. Once approved I moved to colour which was done in photoshop using the sketch as reference. Each image in the series shows how the image was used and how the work was delivered.

Biography:
When I first told my father that I wanted to be an illustrator, he looked blankly at me and said, “Are you sure you can make a living doing that?” 25 years later with numerous awards and work showcased in most illustration annuals I’m still here, “making a living” albeit that the materials have changed and the pastels have been replaced with a clean flat screen and a Wacom tablet.
