Why did you make this work:
The texture monster projected started out simply as observational texture practice. For this second piece I wanted to a Singapore theme as i'd lived here a few years now. Singapore is considered a "garden city" and new building often infused with natural elements. I collected reference photos around my complex of the many plants and human made textures while injecting some autobiographical items.

How did you make this work:
One of my biggest goals is to slow down and not rush to get pieces out every day. This took me 3 weeks from taking the photos, choosing a basic monster shape, jigsaw puzzling together the textures in pencil, then finally slowly building up the line work with very small ink fine liners on A3 paper.
