Jeanne Detallante has developed a highly personal and instantly recognizable style over the years, which is equally dazzling and grotesque. Detallante creates bohemian, unsettling and fascinating dream worlds.
Visibly shaped by the 60’s, her subjects are drawn from myths, fairy-tales and high-end fashion magazines and are usually placed against abstract or surreal backgrounds. Painting at times decadent, hyperrealist fashion vamps and at times ageless, surrealist figures.
In her artistic maturity her figures are known for their repressed desperation and their luminosity of colour that highlight the sensuality of everyday life.
Jeanne judged the Public Realm category for the WIA2015 Awards.
