Why did you make this work:
These illustrations were created for the book, All Things Bright and Beautiful. The brief asked for beautiful spread illustrations in the illustrators style to accompany the text. The book is to show children how beautiful and wonderful the natural world is and Jean Claude's illustrations perfectly encapsulate that.

How was the illustration used:
The illustrations were used throughout the book as well as for marketing material relating to the book, including email/ web banners, flyers, posters, booklets etc.

How did you make this work:
Starting off with rough sketches to show the composition of the spreads, then digitally building on top of that with colour to create the final artworks.

Biography:
Jean Claude is a self-taught illustrator from the UK, currently living and working in Brooklyn, New York. He lives with his partner and child, and their (slightly) overweight cat. When he's not drawing he loves making ceramics in a local studio, visiting the botanical gardens and baking bread.
