James Jones
The Fictional Man - Book Cover

Book Covers

Commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
Book Cover illustration, typography and design created for New York Times Bestselling author Al Ewing's classic 'The Fictional Man'. Published by Rebellion in Jan 2021.

How was the illustration used:
Book cover. Promotional materials. Prints. Animations.

How did you make this work:
All of the typography used to create the cover was taken from the book. Overlapping key lines over and over again in different sizes to create the final illustration (have a zoom in for full effect). I also wanted the line 'What's it like, not being real?' to be quite prominent. Inspired by the subject matter and the line: “The Fictional’s thoughts were as visible to the author as words on a page”
