Why did you make this work:
‘Kakuichi Yokocho’ is a modern online shop selling traditional Japanese side dishes. So we created this futuristic illustration world for ‘Kakuichi Yokocho’, which combine the internet and Japanese tradition together. You can find a lot of hidden stores, such as the kelp market, the Chinese noodles shop, and also the first Kakuichi Yokocho shop when it was originally established.

How was the illustration used:
Web site image , Real Store wall, Name cards, and shopping bag, etc.

How did you make this work:
Thumbnail ideas, Rough sketches were drawn to decide the whole angle and layout. References : The image was expanded from the research which based on the historical photographs. Sketches : We wondered what kind of symbol to place in the centre of the illustration. After many tests, I finally decided to use the grand lantern.
