Hye Young An
Fragments Of Summer

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
When I look at pebbles and shells picked up from the beach, each of them remind me of the forgotten memories of summer. In those memories, I am busy finding my favorite shell, thinking how great it would be, if I could collect the gleams of sunlight too. This zine was created to express such thoughts and emotions to capture the fleeting memories of summer.

How was the illustration used:
This illustration zine is one of my portfolio series. I always try to make my own zine and picture book every year. It was self published in 2019.

How did you make this work:
This work was made with water colors, gouache, paper collages. When organizing my images, I usually do a digital collage.
