When I read One Tiny Dot, I imagined an uncomplicated world, one which children would want to delve into with vibrant colours and simply-drawn, diverse characters. Also, the Dot needed to be the main focus on each page, so I opted for a pop of colour with the bright blue because it’s calming and represents peace. Lots of spreads use white backgrounds to help each scene really sing from the page.Commissioner Company :

Gwen was brought up in Wales. After school she migrated north to Edinburgh where she graduated with a First in illustration and was awarded the Helen A. Rose Bequest for art. Gwen has written and illustrated several books, including two Bear and Bird titles, Stories from Bug Garden (Candlewick), Tiger Lily and Flat Cat, written by Hiawyn Oram. Gwen lives in Bristol with her young son.
