How did you make this work:
Wydawnictwo Czarne commissioned me to design a book cover for the Polish edition of Melissa Febos' essays about the forces that shape girls and the adults they become. This is a digital work - drawn in Adobe Photoshop with Wacom Cintiq. The typography was made with ink on paper. I decided to draw a portrait of a teenage girl, her face expressing ambiguous emotions about us looking at her.

Gosia Herba is an award-winning illustrator, author of children’s books, and art historian based in Wroclaw, Poland. Her works combine traditional techniques such as crayons, gouache, and ink with digital. She has worked with clients such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, Der Tagesspiegel, The Washington Post, Quarto, and Andersen Press.
