Why did you make this work:
The illustrations were made for the Romanian translation of Mario Vargas Llosa's book "El barco de los niños" (The Children's Boat). Inspired by Marcel Schwob’s "The Children’s Crusade", Mario Vargas Llosa composes a beautiful historical fiction with echoes of ancient fables and myths.

How was the illustration used:
The illustrations were published in a children's book.

The illustrations were created digitally using Procreate and Adobe Photoshop.

Biography:
Gabi Toma is a Romanian illustrator and graphic designer. In her work, she likes mixing digital illustration with traditional media. She loves vibrant colors and interesting textures. Her projects include book cover design and illustration, editorial illustration, and children’s books illustration. She also likes bringing her drawings to life through animation.
