Fred Campbell
The Grand Expedition

Site Specific

Commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
I was contacted in early 2018 by Suz Mountfort at Gingerline. She had seen my work online and wanted to use it in their upcoming show, 'Expedition.' She had written the script for the show, I was then tasks with visualizing the world and characters. I made a series of storyboards and discussed my ideas at length in a series of meetings with Suz and Greenaway and Greenaway, the animation company.

How was the illustration used:
These Ilustrations were used in a site specific large-scale theatrical animation piece.

How did you make this work:
I used pen and ink and water-colour to make my illustrations. I then scanned them in, cut them out, then sent them to Greeenaway and Greenaway who assembled them into scenes and got them ready to be projected during the show. I worked collaboratively with Greenaway and Greenaway to best realise my storyboard designs.
