Working with the Botanists and the Education Department at Cambridge University Botanic Garden, our mission has been to encourage more young visitors by changing the experience children have when visiting the Garden. For this project we designed a pocked sized spotting guide which aimed to introduce young visitors to the ecology of different plant habitats and the animal diversity found there through the playful and interactive guide.

Our brief was to design a spotting guide for children to use to identify the wide range of animals found in the different habitats in the gardens. Like a scientist in the field, children were encouraged to seek out and identify the wide range of animals found in the different habitats in the gardens. Looking high and low, points were awarded based on the level of difficulty to spot or the rarity of the species.
