The Audience

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
The Audience was inspired by and created after a spell living in New York in late 2017. Each one of these stylish, interesting individuals was spotted on those crazy streets. If only they knew they were now immortalized :)

How was the illustration used:
I first showed my art at a pop-up shop on Exmouth Market in London, UK, in the summer of 2019. My work was part of a group show “Satan’s Perimeter” at Art Share LA, Los Angeles, California; “Art In Boxes”, a group show in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NYC, and “Borders” at Romantso Gallery, Athens, Greece. I currently have 2 exhibitions at Apple Tree in London, UK, and Von Bar in Manhattan, NYC.

How did you make this work:
I'm an illustrator creating portrait/collage composites. I create these pictures by first drawing portraits of people I see or come into contact with, using pencil and paper. I then outline the drawing with black pen on tracing paper. This is then coloured in Photoshop. These portraits, along with actual photographs, are then assembled, collage-style, into the final “scene”.
