Why did you make this work:
The idea of making a recipe book came from a discussion with the original publisher. However, I didn't want to make a simple recipe book. I wanted it to speak about people. The book was born upon a reflection of how my food habits changed by moving to Australia as a child, and coming in contact with a very varied community of people and therefore a variety of food.

How was the illustration used:
The illustrations form a 40pp hardback children's book.

How did you make this work:
The Illustrations were made after a long period of research into both characters and recipes. I use watercolour and coloured pencils in various layers. I don't like to use digital colouring for children's books as it feels cold to me. Also using coloured pencils really brings me closer to my child self, which is really important when making images and stories for children.
