Why did you make this work:
I was approached by the business to have collaborative creative control over their new Japanese Ramen restaurant venture, as I had recently been to Japan, was a fan of the culture and produced a Japanese themed series of work prior. Within the space of 8 months, I managed to design branding, logo, 5 murals in and outside of the building and 3 pieces of original artwork to hang in the restaurant.

How was the illustration used:
My artwork was used to get the public talking about the new restaurant that was coming, as ramen was a very new cuisine for our part pof the world and they wanted to communicate that straight away. They also wanted to keep the artwork in keeping with traditional Japanese culture with a modern twist that highlighted the cuisine was noodle-based.

How did you make this work:
All predominantly hand painted murals using masonry paint and rustoleum paints. The noodles and chopsticks created on the external mural were done freehand. Please follow the link below to watch a short descriptive video of the process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6M6Vcx2tsM
