Why did you make this work:
I contributed 3 illustrations, including one illustration for the cover of the "Burgtheater Magazine #01 Spielzeit 2021/22". The issue of this magazine is in German "LÄRM", eng. "NOISES". I was able to translate the essay and screenplay "VERFLIXUNG" of Eva von Redecker (philosphist) and Elfriede Jelinek (writer) to visualise the play in 3 acts.

How was the illustration used:
This work was commissioned by Burgtheater (opera magazine) — the state opera of Austria in Vienna. It is the most important German-language theater and one of the most important theatres in the world.

How did you make this work:
These 3 artworks has been created fully on "Procreate". The essay and screenplay "VERFLIXUNG" resembled my time during the lockdownn of 2020. I tried new compositions, layouts, colours, shapes and concepts are variables which characterise the storytelling of BOOM, QUARANTINE and YOU. This visual process evokes creativity, that takes courage. And the courage is leading me to enter new process.

Biography:
Duke Nguyen is a multidisciplinary designer, performance- and visual artist based in Stuttgart, Germany. During his study in communication design, he combined his illustrative passion with conceptual graphic design. Now he is working for commissioned and self-initiated projects. His main focus in developing new concepts & design, is based on image-process & design theory — generating new theory.
