The collectable BEAR cards come free with every pack of BEAR yoyos fruit snacks. The card campaign's aim was to excite and delight school age consumers with amazing but true animal facts about the natural world & animal habitats. The illustration had to bring the animal on each card to life, balancing emotionally engaging character design, distinctive illustration & conspicuous colour choices.
How was the illustration used:
The illustrated cards will come with every BEAR yoyo pack (uk) and BEAR Fruit Roll pack (global) until the end of 2023/24 and will also be a significant part of communications & marketing collateral.
How did you make this work:
The project required balancing illustrating animals in a way that was close enough to how they appear in real life but with fun personalities to engage in the snacking moment, the artwork was created with a mix of digital and authentic mark making. The card campaign was curated into groups of three so much focus was also placed on selecting distinctive colours to help communicate the mini groups. Commissioner Name :

Chris spent his education drawing on his friends’ schoolbooks & was brought up on a diet of Tom & Jerry cartoons, Swiss chocolate & french sunshine. Chris's illustrations are populated with rambunctious characters that are a cleverly crafted mix of an uncomplicated line style, wonky perspectives & conspicuous colour choices & is described charming & visually striking with a sharp graphic style.
