The Ritual

Book Covers

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
This illustration is part of my final project for MA Illustration in SCAD Atlanta. I've always struggled with simplicity and minimalistic style. This challenge proved to be something that I can conquer and to become a better designer/illustrator.

How was the illustration used:
The illustration is used for the book cover of one of my favorite books by Adam Neville called The Ritual.

How did you make this work:
The overall theme deals with mythology and human psychology. I conducted research for the Rorschach test that correlates with the titular character. Inspired by the Rorschach's pattern and the mythology creature, I created the illustration using Procreate on Ipad. I transfer the finished drawing to Photoshop to create the watercolor effect. The final touch was finalized using Photoshop.
