The illustration is created for 2018 Brand Refresh Campaign for a mall, that seeks a sense of whimsical and surreal element in their brand. There is a multi-faceted mirrored installation, which the illustration is to be reflected onto, somewhat like anomorphic art, but a different direction. It allows people to walk around for an immersive experience, like a large kaleidoscope, everything changes.
The illustration changes from day to night and has hidden surprises, where some animals are only to found/seen at certain vantage points, which is caused by the distortions. This invites people to explore and interact, and simply enjoy the Art piece in any ways they want. Which is also a reflection of this campaign of a 'different' shopping experience at the mall.Commissioned for:

Charly Cheung is a Canadian-born Hong Kong Illustrator/Art Director, working for clients over the world. She graduated from Central St Martins College of Art and Design - BA Graphic Design in 2006. And continued her career in London for a couple of years, venturing in animation, illustration, character, fashion and graphics. She values traditional skills with contemporary aesthetics, to craft something meaningful and engaging, hoping to bring a new perspectives to something familiar yet different.
