Caitlin Du
Brain Removal Zipper

Exploration

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
Brain Removal Zipper is a comedic and absurdist invention idea. I wanted a way to avoid negative emotions, so of course the best solution is removing your brain and thoughts directly!

How was the illustration used:
This work was intended to be used as printed posters to display in public areas, or laminated into collectable prints to promote my artwork.

How did you make this work:
I was inspired by furniture instruction manuals, airplane safety guides, and vintage comic covers. While I made the work digitally, the colors, grains, and especially the Ben-Day Dots, were inspired by vintage comic magazines I found in a nearby thrift shop.
