Usage: Playing cards/Packaging
Process: We conceptualised possible themes for the deck of cards and put together some mood boards, style reference and some rough digital sketches for 3 possible ideas. Once client had chosen one direction we began creating further digital sketches to get an idea of composition and layout. We then began rendering in Illustrator and exploring colour. Final artworks were supplied in vector format.

Brief Requirements: Art of Play has developed into one of the world's leading sources for designer playing cards and accessories. In addition to curating curiosities from around the globe, they collaborate with award-winning designers and brands to create original products. We were invited to design a deck of cards and decided on the theme ‘Jungle'.
Key Brief Ideas: The key creative idea to the jungle theme was to explore a richness in imagery, introducing an intriguing narrative whilst also staying true to the balanced patterning of traditional playing cards. The aesthetic was an intentional move away from the masculine, often serious themes associated with playing card designs for a more fun and playful sensibility.
