The Wild

Design Product & Packaging

Commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
Commissioned for Jumbo Toys, the brief was to create a design for a jigsaw puzzle for children full of wild animals. Every inch had to include part of an image or something of interest in order that every piece of the jigsaw had something to see on it. It needed to be bright and colourful to catch customers eyes and appeal to children. The jigsaw will be launched early 2021.

How was the illustration used:
For a jigsaw puzzle and packaging. The design needed to wrap around the box the jigsaw was packaged in, maintaining detail and interest with the accompanying text and brand design.

How did you make this work:
The animals in the piece were created in separate files at slightly larger sizes, then imported and adjusted to fit. Elements were built and created with scanned textures and mono prints of various patterns. Once imported into Photoshop, layers were created to achieve the right result for each element of the design. Colours were adjusted, marks added and more layers created, all done with a Wacom
