Anna Vasilyeva
The Cosmic Bookstore

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
A year ago I studied on a course of Central Saint Martins College. There was one task: we supposed to image the bookstore of our dreams. What kind of books should be selled there, how that store would look like? From that little task appeared this story about one girl and her adventures in The Cosmic Bookstore, where she finds nine platforms, one platform - one planet with its specifications.

How was the illustration used:
It's a graphic novel

How did you make this work:
I started with exploring of some information abot our Solar System. Compared the sizes of the planets and their gravity. In any "platform-panet" the girl feels the differences in its specifications. I used two opposite colours and round shapes in the base.
