Why did you make this work:
The website http://vykhodka.ru/ is an interactive multimedia project. It reconstructs three performances made by Soviet underground artists and it's based on their written documentation. It was a part of The State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow) online programme for the exhibition “Navsegda” (“Forever”), dedicated to the Soviet art of the 1960s — 1980s.

How was the illustration used:
The illustration and interactive animation were used to reconstruct the events of performances (because there are few photographs left, and because they don't necessarily convey the atmosphere, the client decided to use the illustration). It's presented as a website http://vykhodka.ru/

How did you make this work:
The artwork was created in Adobe Photoshop, almost entirely with the Lasso Tool. I wanted to get a retro feel without going into direct stylization of the 1960s — 1980s artwork. The website itself consists of looped animated GIFs and interactive animations. One can interact with various feautures on the site.
