Anna Rupprecht
The Cut

Site Specific

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
I created this illustration as a kind of urge and self examination. I wanted to show what it means to overcome fear and set yourself free, leaving old doubts behind and form a better more authentic self. The meaning has many parallels to the process of deciding if you want to choose the creative, maybe not always continual path of an illustrator. The cut symbolically stands for taking the risk.

How was the illustration used:
The illustration is used as a portfolio piece on my website and social media.

How did you make this work:
I scribbled on paper for a long time to create all the elements of the illustration. Also it took me some time to set a ornamental pattern out of it with the focus on the middle part. Then I scanned my draft and continued working in illustrator and photoshop.
