Why did you make this work:
The client gave me free hands to come up with an illustration idea for this book. In the Finnish title story (Capricious Gardens), the characters with motivational conflicts play an interesting game of cat and mouse, and the story is placed in a house surrounded by a wild garden. This also served as a metaphor for the whole collection.

How was the illustration used:
The illustration was used as the book cover on the Finnish edition of Fresh Complaint short story collection.

How did you make this work:
I drew the illustration with ink brush pen and colored it in the Photoshop.

Biography:
Anja Reponen is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Helsinki. She studied at Lahti Institute of Design and at London College of Communication, and she has a background in book design. Her clients include It's Nice That, Smithsonian, Lenny Letter and Helsingin Sanomat.
