Why did you make this work:
Assigned to create a vibrant portrait of the protagonist Violeta for the novels cover, my goal was to showcase the emotion centred around her story. From the blossoming blush camellia flowers to the spotted shaded sunlight, Violeta as well as her surroundings radiate the beauty and finality of life.

How was the illustration used:
This artwork was made for the cover of the novel "Violeta" an epic story written by Isabel Allende published by Ballantine Books, Penguin Random House.

How did you make this work:
This illustration was created digitally on Adobe Photoshop using the Apple Pencil with the iPad Pro.

Amanda Arlotta is a Canadian illustrator based in Toronto. Amanda attended OCAD University in Toronto graduating with a Bachelor of Design degree in Illustration awarded with distinction. Her selected clients include Penguin Random House, The New York Times, Audi Canada & Sweet Reason. Known for her realistic technique, Amanda’s illustrative work aims to innovate & bring out new concepts to life.
