ProfessionalWhy did you make this work:
UFOs and their associated social history are fascinating. I have long been captivated by the people, literary estoerica and films dedicated to the phenomena. I often search bookshops with the laser-focussed intent to find books about UFOs, ghosts and monsters. I pitched my own UFO book to Nobrow in 2018 and was happy to find them agreeable to manifest my obsession in print.
How was the illustration used: Non-Fiction Book
How did you make this work: The beginnning involved expanding my esoteric library with more UFO titles, followed by traditional note-taking, collecting reference pictures and trawling odd websites. I wrote the text at nearly the same time as drawing the book (on an old Cintiq). In-house editors and designers provided invalauble advice to keep me reletively grounded until we arrived at something we were pleased with.
