TREE, BIRDS AND FISH
SELF INITIATED BRONZE AWARD
PROFESSIONAL
2007 – IMAGES 31
All Jonathan’s illustrations are made as wood engravings. He works in book publishing, editorial, design briefs and more recently he has made web-based illustrations. All his work is made by hand through drawing and painting, as well as working as a printmaker. Jonathan is represented by CIA.
Trees, Birds, and Fish II is an exhibition piece and one that follows a series on this theme. Recently he has worked on book illustrations for Mark Cocker, Richard Maybe, and Charles Rangeley-Wilson. These writers explore our relationship to Natural History and the environment and much of my self-initiated work has followed these subjects.
“This work was widely seen and appreciated. The award was a huge encouragement to me.”
