Why did you choose to enter this work?
I choose to enter this work because it's my first personal project as an Illustrator, the biggest one and the most intimate.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I really love this project because it's dedicated to my family, especially my grandmother and mother, and it combines my two passions: illustration and food (I cook a lot).
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I'm glad to be shortlisted for WIA2023. It's an accomplishment for this project to be selected by a professional jury. It means that other people can maybe feels the emotions that were put into it.
Where do you usually work?
I work from my apartment where I organised a corner that I use as an office. You’ll find all my inspirations books, laptops, and pencils. My flat overlooks the roofs of Paris which is very inspiring!
How long did it take to complete your project?
I had this idea 10 years ago during my bachelor but I really started in 2019. I worked every day aside my job for 6 month to give it to my grandmother as a present before she passed away.
What is your dream commission?
My dream commission would be designing a book about Paris: the most beautiful places to go to and mainly monuments, best restaurants, gardens, great spots that aren’t specifically known by the public.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I really love to draw architecture, food, fauna and flora, these are my principal inspirations and you can see it in most of my work.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Practice ! As much as you can, so you can improve your technic and refine your style.
What are your plans for the future?
I would like to keep working as a Freelance Illustrator and work with clients who would give me their trust and let me express my creativity. I find it exciting to work on different subjects.
