Why did you choose to enter this work?
Nicky´s pictures inspired me right away and together we came up with the idea for our collaboration. We want to celebrate womanhood and show that combining photography with Illustration is beautiful!
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I love the larger than live feel, the vibrant colors as well as the message it conveys!
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
Being recognized for the work I did feels truly incredible!
Where do you usually work?
Since moving to Portugal I still work from my living room/studio corner right next to the window. My goal for the next year is to find a studio space and have more room for analog explorations!
How long did it take to complete your project?
Round about 2 weeks with going through all the images and deciding/ selecting on the best sketches to coloring and vectorizing.
What is your dream commission?
I´d absolutely love to work on anything related to music, Tennis or surfing as well as adding my newer abstract works as patterns etc.! Also I love seeing my characters animated :)
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Characters in powerful and dynamic poses who feel great about themselves and enjoy life with all it´s ups and downs.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Stay true to yourself and never stop believing that you can do it!
What are your plans for the future?
Keep evolving and experiencing life to the fullest! Hopefully being able to work with some of my dream clients and explore my creativity and voice in as many ways as possible.
