Interview: Carina Lindmeier

Why did you choose to enter this work?
This work represents my style best and was great fun to do.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
It's great to see how much my own style makes something like still life illustration feel dynamic and alive.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
It's great to be represented next to so many exciting and unique projects! I've already discovered many other fantastic illustrators and it's wonderful how diverse the styles are. I feel very honored!

Where do you usually work?
I usually work in my studio. This is also my happy place :)

How long did it take to complete your project?
We all know how it works with our own portfolio projects... but to be honest, it varies a lot.

What is your dream commission?
There are some dream commissions I hope to realise in the future, like doing a Google doodle and doing more commercial illustration work.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Currently food and life style themes.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Consistency, experiment a lot, show your work and don't forget to have fun!

What are your plans for the future?
I'm currently working on a few projects and will see where they take me. But most of all, I'd just like to keep doing what I'm doing and keep working with incredible clients and creatives.
