Sharon Volpe is a NYC-Based Painter, Illustrator, Designer and Teacher of Studio Art. She comes from the surrounding NYC area, and completed an M.F.A. in illustration at The Fashion Institute of Technology in 2016 where she studied under well-known painters and illustrators such as Brendan Leach, Aya Kakeda, Martha Rich and Martin Wittfooth. Prior to that she studied graphic design at The School of Visual Arts. Her work has been exhibited in many shows from NYC, Los Angeles, Miami, and in 2018 Paris.
Her work was selected for American Illustration 38 Call for Art to appear online as part of The ARCHIVE at
ai-ap.com. and was also selected as a Runner Up in Creative Quarterly Issue No. 52 in the Fall of 2018.
Her whimsical yet cohesive body of work mostly paying homage to the human experience.
Artists that influence her work are the Masters such Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse, Egon Schiele, Andy Warhol and current artists working today like James Jean and Jean Jullien.
