I’m an ink and watercolour illustrator, specialising in hand drawn imagery often inspired by traditional surface pattern. I mostly draw on tracing paper, which gives the ink work a luminescent, almost glazed quality, building images in layers with sweeps of alcohol ink marker.
I graduated from Falmouth’s MA in illustration with a distinction in 2021 and began freelancing, creating a large mural piece for Medway Council, working with local schools in the area.
I create images for licensing, and won ‘License This!; in 2021 for my brand ‘Tea for Tattoo,’ as well as hand drawn work for music festivals, apparel design and book illustration for adults and children. My piece ‘The Whale Beneath’ was short listed for the Refresh Art Prize 2021, where I took my illustration and printed it on a large sheet of acrylic to create an installation piece.
I am currently working on a pitch for Nickelodeon as the lead background artist on a project re-booting a well loved children’s classic as part of Dirthob, an international team of creatives, and will be exhibiting at ‘Brand Licensing Europe’ in the Autumn of 2022.
